MetroPacific Properties, LLC

Metro Pacific Properties is a San Francisco Bay Area-based limited liability corporation specializing in multi-use real estate development and management. Founded in 2002 by Siavash Barmand, we have focused more recently on worldwide hospitality development projects.

We have been involved in over US$250MM worth of real estate project developments, management, rehabilitation, and consulting services. We successfully completed several projects ranging from US$2MM to US$60MM in the United States. This included repositioning of a hotel casino tower into residential apartments in State of Nevada, USA, and a ground up development and opening of a Hyatt Place Hotel in Riverside California.

Metro Pacific has successfully completed several development management projects for multi-residential projects in California. One of our specialties is urban mixed-use development, which includes, residential, retail, and hotel components, by partnering with the local government and municipality agencies.

We have also had investments in the hospitality and food & beverage sector in British Columbia, Canada – the Pan Pacific Whistler Village and the Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub in the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside.

One of our more recent projects was the successful development of a 128-key Hyatt Place hotel in Riverside, California. We started at the ground level, in a competitive developer selection process in 2006. We then negotiated a disposition and development agreement with the City of Riverside, developed the hotel and opened it in 2012. We sold the property in 2017.

MetroPacific is an approved hotel developer for several internationally known hotel brands, including the Hyatt Corporation.

Our team is currently seeking to invest and develop hospitality and tourism projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. We will utilize our experience and resources in the subject industry and work closely with local affiliates and industry leaders to put at least five hotel projects in the pipeline by 2020.





Siavash Barmand: Principal

Siavash Barmand has over 30 years of real estate development experience and is charged with setting the strategic and business direction for a number of single and multi-asset partnerships. He has an extensive track record as a real estate developer, investor, consultant, and asset manager. During his career in public and private real estate development, he has been a key player in over USD250 million worth of real estate transactions.

Siavash's experience ranges from small, local developments to large planned communities for multi-family residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. His focus is in urban, mixed-use projects, with an emphasis on hospitality. He has over thirty-five years of experience in corporate business development, ownership structuring, acquisitions and re-positioning, project oversight and redevelopment, asset management, and maintaining key investor relationships. He specializes in identifying real estate investment opportunities all around the globe, and sourcing and evaluating strategic equity partners.

His real estate development experience is complemented by an extensive public sector background. He has held senior positions with large community public works authorities responsible for land development and capital improvements projects. He has served as the City Engineer/Public Works Director for the City of Tiburon, California as well as an elected member of the City Council in Belvedere, California. In that capacity he negotiated with the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to mitigate flood control measures impacting the seaside community.

He has provided consulting and investment advisory services to global investors, developers, builders, engineers, and contractors in both commercial, hospitality, retail, and residential real estate sectors and has acted as a government expert witness in real estate development-related litigations. The City of Riverside, California awarded his company, MetroPacific Properties, the exclusive right to redevelop four downtown blocks. The Hyatt Place Hotel, Phase 1 of this project, was completed in April 2012.

Siavash began his career in 1980 as a civil/structural engineer for the Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, his M.S. in Civil Engineering/Construction Management from California State University, San Jose, and his MBA in Management and Finance from San Francisco State University. He held a California building contractor's license from 1984 to 1991 and has been a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California since 1986.



Azi Najafi: Finance & Administration

Ms. Najafi has over 22 years of experience in all aspects of construction from management to financing and marketing of projects. She is charged with brand and investor relations, finance, and company administration.

She received a B.S. in Transportation Management and Finance and an M.B.A in Marketing. She has been with MetroPacific since 2002. She is charged with brand and investor relations, finance, and company administration.

 


Susan Aronovsky: Project Management

Susan Aronovsky is charged with investment risk analysis and control, project feasibility analysis, and development management and coordination from inception to disposition.

Ms. Aronovsky received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
